At Ivy Dene Rabbit Rescue, we understand how much your rabbits means to you. They’re not just animals - they’re family. But what would happen to your rabbits if something were to happen to you? That’s why we’ve created Ivy Dene Bunny Promise. By registering your rabbit with us, you can have peace of mind knowing that if the unexpected happens, we’ll be there to provide a loving, safe home for your bunnies.

What is the Bunny Promise scheme?

Bunny Promise is a free service for rabbit owners who want to ensure their beloved companions are cared for if they’re no longer able to. Whether due to illness, disability, or passing away, Ivy Dene Rabbit Rescue commits to:

• Welcoming your rabbits into our care: Providing them with immediate shelter meeting all their physical and emotional needs.

• Finding the perfect home: Working to match your rabbits with a loving, suitable forever family.

• Lifetime support: If rehoming isn’t possible, your rabbits will remain in the safe haven of our rescue for life.

How it works

1. Register your rabbits
   Complete our simple registration form to enroll your bunnies with Bunny Promise. You’ll provide details about their health so we can understand their needs. Read the T&Cs first to make sure you’re happy.

2. Contact a legal adviser
   Here is the suggested wording you’ll need to include in your Will. This will leave your rabbit(s) in the care of the Ivy Dene Rabbit Rescue, in the event of your death:
   
   “I give [any pet rabbit I own at my death] [define the animal] [and _____ pounds] [and _______ percent / the whole of my residuary estate] to Ivy Dene Rabbit Rescue of 1 The Mews Little Brunswick Street, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, HD1 5JL (registered charity no 1194743) for its general purposes and I direct that once [any pet rabbit I own at my death][defined animal] is delivered to Ivy Dene Rabbit Rescue it shall take over full responsibility for the animal and seek to place it in a suitable home if possible. The receipt of the duly authorised officer of Ivy Dene Rabbit Rescue for the time being shall be a good discharge of my Executors.”
   
   If you’d like to leave a gift to Ivy Dene then please use the above wording - but you don’t have to do this to register for Bunny Promise.

3. Let loved ones know
   Share your plans with friends, family, or those responsible for your estate so they know to contact Ivy Dene Rabbit Rescue in the event of your passing.
